Emergency Trauma Life Support (ETLS) – ASI Initiative

The Emergency Trauma Life Support (ETLS) program of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) is a structured training initiative aimed at equipping surgeons and healthcare professionals with essential skills for the prompt assessment and management of trauma patients.

Trauma remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, and timely, systematic intervention can make the difference between life and death. The ETLS course focuses on a standardized, evidence-based approach to trauma care, emphasizing initial assessment, resuscitation, stabilization, and transfer of critically injured patients.

Through a blend of didactic sessions, hands-on skill stations, and simulated scenarios, participants gain practical competence and confidence in managing diverse trauma situations. The program reflects ASI’s continued commitment to enhancing surgical education, promoting patient safety, and strengthening emergency surgical response across the nation.
