Surgeons Training in Endoscopy Program (STEP) – ASI Initiative
The Surgeons Training in Endoscopy Program (STEP), an initiative of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), is a comprehensive, structured training module designed to equip surgeons with essential endoscopic skills.
With minimally invasive techniques becoming an integral part of modern surgical practice, STEP provides a systematic and hands-on learning experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. The program focuses on fundamental principles, instrumentation, safe technique, and management of endoscopic challenges through interactive lectures, simulation-based training, and supervised practical sessions.
STEP aims to bridge the skill gap by empowering surgeons with competence and confidence in endoscopic procedures, thereby enhancing patient outcomes and promoting safe surgical practices.
